AWON Member Paula Evans Baker greets the last Comanche Code-Talker, Charles Chibitty of Tulsa, following his recent speech in Norman, OK on March 13, 2001. Chibitty was one of 17 Oklahoma Comanches attached to the 4th Infantry Division, 4th Signal Corps, during WWII.

They made the D-Day landing and served as communicators through St. Lo, Huertgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge, and Germany without a single mistake or fatality to their group.

Chibitty spoke at the American Indian Cultural Society Meeting. Veterans were recognized at the end of the talk and Paula stood up for AWON.
