This page is to honor and remember the men of Cemetery of the Pacific . . .
our fathers, uncles, brothers, and loved ones . . . on their day . . . at the one place on earth where they are most remembered.

For keeping this place on earth so well ~ we want to thank the American Battle Monuments Commission,
along with the Cemetery of the Pacific Superintendent and his staff for the dignity and reverence the entire
ABMC team provides our fathers and the friends and loved ones who visit them.

The Memorial Day Wreath for 2017 was presented by Alix Prejean.

The 2019 presenters at the Punchbowl were Vanita Rae Smith and Alix Prejean,
joined by Susan Chadd's grandson Nicholas Chadd and Vanita Rae's nephew, Solomon.

At the Punchbowl for Memorial Day 2018, Vanita Rae's family
stands by the grave of famous WWII writer and the "Soldier's Friend," Ernie Pyle.

The 2013 AWON Wreath and Banner remembered 66 men by name ~ and so many others who died in the cause of freedom.

Our two most regular presenters ~ Alix Bonnyman Prejean and Vanita Rae Smith
await presentation of the AWON Wreath and Banners at Memorial Day services in 2015.

We want to thank the sons and daughters, other family, and the next of kin of the men of Cemetery of the Pacific for contributing over
the years to our annual Memorial Day remembrances ~ including wreaths like the one above and banners like the ones below ~
that remember these men by name. With special thanks to those who have been able to travel to be on hand to represent
so many of us who couldn't be there.

Respectfully,
Susan Roberts Chadd

As you may know, cautions related to the Covid-19 virus caused the American Battle Monuments Commission
to close all ABMC overseas cemeteries to the public until further notice. But Memorial Day remembrances are happening
regardless, not just at our overseas cemeteries, but right here, right now, as we remember all who died in the cause of
freedom ~ including the 67 AWON men of Cemetery of the Pacific.

Susan Chadd has been one of AWON's most loyal Coordinators, having served Cemetery of the Pacific for fourteen years
of the so-far sixteen year program at Cemetery of the Pacific. Longtime AWONer and presenter Alix Prejean handled Coordinations
for two years with many thanks, before turning the reigns back to Susan for these last two years. Susan remembers everyone at
Cemetery of the Pacific, but she especially remembers her father, 2LT Edmund Hunt Roberts, Jr.

Due to Covid, no public services were held on Memorial Day 2020.
Please be patient as we bring in treatments of 2005 through 2007 from another server.
